China Wildlife Tour will provide a unique chance for you to get up-close and personal to the precious Giant Panda in the remote Chinese wilderness. Life is rarely black and white... unless you're a Giant Panda on the brink of extinction. With an already low world population in decline there are certainly no grey areas in this conservation project, so do your bit and 'panda' to their every need!

Day 1: Arrive Hong KongDepart on your flight bound for Hong Kong. Upon your arrival, you will be met and transferred to the hotel.

Day 2: Hong KongEnjoy your free time to explore today.

Day 3: Hong Kong - Guilin - YangshuoToday you will be transferred to the ferry station and board the boat to Shenzhen, arrival and transit to the airport and fly to Guilin. Upon your arrival in Guilin, you will take an interesting tour to the famous Reed Flute Cave with fantastic stalactites and stalagmites. In the afternoon, you will continue to drive to Yangshuo, a beautiful small town located along the verge of Li River. Arrival and check in the local hotel in the evening.

Day 4: Yangshuo - Fuli - YangshuoIn this morning, you will enjoy a bicycle tour exploring the wonderful scenery in the surrounding countryside. Then you will experience a leisure cruise tour along the scenic Li River and arrive at a remarkable town of Fuli, where you will see the stone houses and cobbled lanes. Later in the afternoon, you will return to Yangshuo.

Day 5: Yangshuo - Chengdu - Wolong Giant Panda Research BaseYou will be transferred to the airport and fly to Chengdu, arrival and drive to Wolong Giant Panda Research Base. Arrival and check in the local hotel. An interesting visit to the Giant Panda Museum will be arranged which comprehensively and graphically illustrates all aspects of giant pandas and the natural resources of flora and fauna in Wolong area.

Day 6: Wolong Giant Panda Research B! ase - Ch engduToday you will enjoy an excursion along the mountain path of the valley for about 1.5 hours to see the natural surrounding of the area where the Giant Pandas live. After lunch, you will be transferred back to Chengdu, after a short city tour, check in your hotel.

Day 7: Chengdu - XianIn this morning, you will fly to the ancient capital city of Xian for one night stay. Arrival and visit to the famous Terra Cotta Warriors & Horses Museum, tonight you will be invited to attend two local specialities, Dumpling Banquet and Tang Dynasty Show.

Day 8: Xian - ShanghaiAfter a city tour in the morning, you will be transferred to the airport and fly to Shanghai, the biggest city and commercial centre of China. Meet and transferred to your hotel.

Day 9: ShanghaiToday you will visit the Yu Garden and take a leisure walk along the beautiful Bund, in the afternoon, enjoy the free shopping time at the famous Nanjing Road. Yuyuan Garden is a famous classical garden located in Anren Jie, Shanghai. The true treasure of Yuyuan Garden is the Exquisite Jade Rock. The most visible reminder of Shanghai's colonial heritage, the Bund attracts millions of visitors from home and abroad each year.

Day 10: ShanghaiFull-day excursion will bring you to visit the ancient water town at Zhu Jia Jiao. Zhujiajiao is noted for its archaic water country scenery typical of southeast China - old town, peacefulness, tranquility and elegance.

Day 11: Shanghai - BeijingIn this morning, you will be transferred to the airport and fly to Beijing, arrival and visit the magnificent Forbidden City, home to emperors for over 500-years. You will get the chance to stroll through Tiananmen Square. This evening, you are invited to an authentic Peking duck banquet. Check in your hotel after dinner.

Day 12: BeijingA full-day tour will take in the grandeur of the Eighth Wonder of the World, the Great Wall, built more than 2000 years ago to protect China from northern invaders. On the way back to Beijing stop and visi! t the sa cred Ming Tombs, where 13 emperors of Ming Dynasty were buried.

Day 13: BeijingToday you will admire the beauty of the Temple of Heaven and witness the splendor of the Summer Palace. In the afternoon, a wonderful Rickshaw tour brings you to visit the Hutong area, the authentic residential area of local Beijing citizens. Enjoy a pleasant dinner with the local family.

Day 14: DepartToday you will be transferred to the airport for your homeward flight and complete the most interesting China wildlife tours.

When animal care staff at the Smithsonian's National Zoo need to know when to breed their pandas or when to expect a cub they turn to the Endocrine (Hormones) Research Lab at the Zoo's Front Royal, Va. facility. This lab--one of the largest in the world--is dedicated to enhancing the reproduction and well-being of animals living in zoos and in the wild. Lab technician Sarah Putman explains one of the most frequent questions asked about the pandas: Why is there no panda pregnancy test?
