Meng Meng came to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding during the latest panda breeding season. Lanjingchao posted a series of pictures of the female panda from Beijing Zoo who was born in Wolong on September 13, 2006. The daughter of mother Ying Ying and father Ling Ling seems to have had a good time.
Will she have her first cub this year? We will know the answer to that question in the next months…

The clip says it all...a once in a lifetime experience at Wolong Reserve near Chengdu, China. Before anyone accuses me of mis-treatment or cruelty to the pandas, I can tell you the Wolong Reserve near Chengdu in Sichuan China closely monitors exposure by the pandas to humans and only allows the pandas to be handled infrequently and only to small groups. Furthermore, the centre is under funded by the Chinese Govt. hence they rely heavily on Western tourist dollars to assist in running this remote Panda breeding centre.
